מנצח כיתת ה-Futurity Open: איהאב שחאדה – דרך של התמדה, שותפות ואמונה

 

הזכייה של איהאב שחאדה בכיתת Futurity Open היא הרבה מעבר לרגע של ניצחון בזירה. זהו סיכום של דרך ארוכה, עקבית ומלאת אמונה, שהחלה כבר בגיל צעיר מאוד.

 

איהאב התחיל את דרכו בעולם הריינינג בגיל 16, בצורה חובבנית לחלוטין. יחד עם חברתו ולקוחה שלו, יעל חיון, הם רכשו שני סוסים והחלו לאמן אותם באופן עצמאי בחוות קופל, אצל גיורא קופל. בהמשך עבד כשנה אצל שי קנטי, ולאחר מכן עבר לאלונים. נקודת המפנה המשמעותית בקריירה שלו הגיעה שם, במפגש שלו עם אילן רוזנברג.

 

אצל אילן קיבל איהאב את הידע, הכלים והפרקטיקה ששינו את התמונה והפכו אותו לרוכב ריינינג של ממש. לצד הלמידה המקצועית, הוא זכה גם להזדמנויות לרכב ולאמן סוסים - חוויה שבנתה אותו הן כרוכב והן כמאמן.

 

ואי אפשר שלא להזכיר את החוליה השנייה בצמד המנצח. איהאב העפיל למקום הראשון יחד עם הסוס תומאס. תומאס, זכר מסורס, נרכש על ידי יעקב פיניין מצביקה כנעני כשהיה בן קצת יותר משנה. זמן מה קודם לכן רכש יעקב גם את אביו של תומאס, טראשי.

תומאס הוא בן של טראשי ושל הסוסה טאג, בבעלות צביקה כנעני.

 

כבר מהיום הראשון היה ברור שתומאס הוא סוס עם אופי מיוחד : ראש טוב, נעים, כזה שלא מחפש לריב אלא לעבוד ולרצות. הדרך איתו הייתה נעימה, ועם הזמן גם הכישרון הלך והתגבש. 

לקראת התחרות הרגיש איהאב שיש בידיו סוס שיכול לנצח. 

הוא בחר לגשת לתחרות בצורה מבוקרת מאוד, עם דגש על הכנה מדויקת בימים שלפניה - והפעם זה אכן קרה.

 

הקשר עם יעקב פיניין, בעליו של תומאס, החל כאשר יעקב נתן לאיהאב את הסוס ״ספורטי״ לאימון, עוד בתקופת אלונים. בהמשך הציע לו להגיע למגידו ולפתוח אורווה קטנה וצנועה. עם הזמן נבנה המגרש בחווה החדשה, אחר כך התאים, ובהמשך יושמה יחד תוכנית להרבעת סוסים. לאט־לאט החלו להגיע לקוחות, וכך נבנה המערך המקצועי שבו איהאב עובד היום. הקשר בין איהאב ליעקב היה ועודנו משמעותי בבניית דרכו המקצועית.

 

מקום מיוחד נוסף שמור ליעל חיון שהיא חברה קרובה שמכירה את איהאב מאז גיל תשע. מהרגעים הראשונים, עוד כשלא הצליח לבצע ספין, יעל, כמו אחות תומכת, העניקה לו ביטחון, גב חזק ודחיפה מתמדת להמשיך ולהתקדם.

איהאב מבקש להודות ליעקב פיניין על השותפות לדרך והאמון, לצוות החווה, להאדיל שמטפחת ודואגת לסוסים, לעדן שביט שטיפל בסוסי הספורט במסירות, לאשתו שנותנת לו את החופש לצמוח ולהתפתח, לאילן רוזנברג על ליווי מקצועי לאורך כל הדרך, ליעל חיון על הדרך המשותפת וההתרגשות מהזכייה (גם כשזה לא היה סוס שלה), וכמובן לדור כהן, לקוחו של איהאב.

 

זוהי זכייה שמספרת סיפור של דרך ארוכה, שותפויות ואמונה ומסמנת עוד ציון דרך משמעותי בקריירה שנבנית בצניעות ובעקביות.

2025 Futurity Open Champion: Ehab Shehada

 

Ehab’s victory in the Futurity Open class is far more than a single winning moment in the arena. It represents the culmination of a long, consistent journey driven by belief, one that began at a very young age.

 

Ehab began his path in the reining world at the age of 16, in a completely amateur setting. Together with his close friend and client, Yael Hayun, they purchased two horses and began training them independently at Koppel Farm. He later worked for about a year with Shay Kaneti, and then moved on to Alonim. It was there that a major turning point in his career took place, when he met Ilan Rosenberg.

 

Under Ilan’s guidance, Ehab gained the knowledge, tools, and practical experience that transformed him into a true reining rider. Alongside professional instruction, he was given opportunities to ride and train horses, an experience that shaped him both as a rider and as a trainer.

 

Of course, no winning duo is complete without its second half. Ehab claimed the top spot together with the horse Thomas. Thomas, a gelding, was purchased by his owner, Yaakov Pinian, from Tzvika knaani when he was just over a year old. Some time earlier, Yaakov had also purchased Thomas’s sire, Trashy.

Thomas is by Trashy and out of the mare Tag, owned by Tzvika Knaani.

 

From the very first day, it was clear that Thomas had a special character. good minded, pleasant, a horse that doesn’t seek conflict but rather wants to work and please. The journey with him was smooth, and over time his talent continued to develop and take shape. Leading up to the competition, Ehab felt he had a horse capable of winning. 

He chose to approach the show in a very controlled manner, placing strong emphasis on precise preparation in the days beforehand. and this time, everything came together.

 

Ehab’s relationship with Yaakov Pinian, Thomas’s owner, began when Yaakov entrusted him with the horse “Sporty” for training during Ehab’s time in Alonim. Later, Yaakov invited him to come to Megiddo and establish a small, modest stable. Over time, the arena at the new ranch was built, followed by the stalls, and eventually a breeding programme was developed together. Gradually, clients began to arrive, and the professional framework in which Ehab works today took shape. The relationship between Ehab and Yaakov has been, and remains, central to the development of Ehab’s professional path.

 

A special place is also reserved for Yael Hayun, a close friend who has known Ehab since the age of nine. From the very beginning, even when he was still unable to perform a spin, Yael, like a supportive sister, provided him with confidence, strong backing, and constant encouragement to keep moving forward and progressing.
